The Belmont Heights Neighborhood of Long Beach is located between the lively restaurants and shops of Belmont Shore, and the activities of the Downtown area.  The Belmont Heights Neighborhood is located in the South Eastern part of the city of Long Beach, California. The boundaries of Belmont Heights is Ocean Blvd and Livingston Drive to the South, Nieto to the East, 7th Street to the North, and Redondo Ave to the West.

What is the neighborhood like?

The Belmont Heights Neighborhood has a wide variety of single family homes, condominiums, and residential income properties to choose from. You'll find a wide variety of architectural styles in Belmont Heights, with the majority of the original homes being either Spanish style or Craftsman. Many of these were built in the early 1900s and are very popular with those who love historic architecture. Full size lots in this area are 6,500 square feet, but many of them have been subdivided into smaller 1/2 and 1/3 size lots.


The cost of a home here will vary depending on location, with the more expensive homes being closer to the beach and/or closer to Belmont shore. These are the most desirable spots for most people but they cost more than other spots in the neighborhood. Areas with less apartments and populated areas are more desirable. If you choose a Spanish style home or a California bungalow these will be more costly since they have such an historical value in the neighborhood.

 

During the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, before more strict planning regulations, many old historic homes were otrn down and replaced with apartments and condos. As a result, many areas of Belmont Heights has parking and density problems. So this is definitely something to consider when choosing a home in this area.
