Wisconsin Lakes; A State Treasure!

Minnesota boasts of their 10,000 lakes in the motto on their license plates, but many of us Wisconsinites suspect that we may have more and better lakes. 

I grew up near the town of Luck, Wisconsin, a town which is proud to have over 30 premium lakes within 10 miles. 

Two of those premium lakes bordered on our 860 acre dairy farm. 

During my youth I became very familiar with these two lakes. 

One of which was a highly used recreational lake, with tons of swimmers, boaters, and lots of summer fun. 

The other one, was more secluded at the back of our farm, totally surrounded by forest land. 

The second lake was my favorite.  It is where I spent hours hunting, trapping, horseback riding, canoeing, and enjoying nature; and of course I introduced this lake to all of the girls I dated.
