Bedroom before & after

Why is my most recent job always my favorite?  Here's a bedroom I just finished.  The bedroom seemed so small when it was vacant that I thought about using a daybed with a trundle.  But I decided that I had to show that the room could fit a queen size bed.  I love the way everything bounces off the mirrors.  Thanks for looking!   Joanbef

Joan ~ What a great transformation in this bedroom.  Positioning the bed so that the mirror reflects the ocean view was brilliant.

Awesome change!  That room appears to be much larger as a result...

Thank you.  I found the correct before picture and changed it out.  Joan

Joan,

That before picture looks like 'our winter of discontentment'. Thank goodness they got you to stag it.

Joan, you did such a nice job. I didn't think a queen size would fit looking at the first picture, would love to have that view

Great job Joan.  I'm not usually a fan of mirrors but like the way you used the screen.

Joan- Mirrors in bedrooms are bad feng shui, but you did exactly the right thing. Put it behind the bed! And the result is fabulous!!!

Oh my, I was in a unit today that looked just like that on the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia.  Actually, I was in the before and after in two different units.

Joan- You did a very nice job on this bedroom. The room looks bigger.

Thanks for all the comments.  I went back to tweak the condo and the first thing I did was unplug the black cord my sons left plugged in under the table and I hid it under the bed.  Good thing I took this picture.  I might not have noticed.  Joan

Your most recent job is always your favorite because you're evolving and your creations are always new and unique!! It's a sign of growth. Looks great!

Joan,

I did a spec home for a builder last week and used the very same thing for my headboard. Looks great!

I love the headboard!  I often use simple bed frames and dress them up with pillows, because it saves quite a bit on the rental fee for the homeowner or realtor.  Now if I can just find a light-weight screen that will fit in my rig.....

Joan,

You achieved what you set out to do which was, show buyers that a queen size bed will fit in the room.  Great job using this space!  Did you stage the rest of this condo too?

Thanks for the compliments!  Liz - Do you have a picture of your bedroom?  Yes, I did every room in this condo.  It was a blast!  Joan

Joan, the bed and chair actually make the room look bigger to me.  You made the right decision.

Joan- I posted a blog about my experience in working with this builder and a picture of the bedroom is in the post. http://activerain.com/blogsview/515055/Working-With-A-Very Hopefully you can find it through this link. I am technically challenged at times! Where did you buy your "headboard"?

05/18/2008 04:50 PM by Liz Carla/Elite Staging & Design/DFW Texas (Elite Staging and Design)

I noticed right away how the headboard helped to anchor the bed and update the "wall of mirrors" (Even though they have a great view).  I love the screen/headboard idea too.  They have some great ones at Pier One also that I love.

OH WOW that is awesome, I love the headboard. The room looks HUGE, great colors, great job.

Congrats Phyllis Pafumi

Great job.  I would have never thought about putting the bed against the mirror.  I love it.  The rooms looks great.

05/31/2008 03:47 PM by Chrissie Sutherland (Ready Set Stage)

You are so brave!  I am thinking my tendency would have been to have the homeowners remove the mirrors.  But the bed looks great on the mirrored wall.  Great idea and look!!
