The Secret of Getting Started

The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of

getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming

tasks into small manageable task and then

starting on the first one.”

Mark Twain 1835 - 1910, American author and humorist

As I see it. . . . . . . .

The secret of getting started

The secret of getting ahead is the mindset . . . . of taking the actions that are required to pull you in the right direction.

Skills, motivation or desire by themselves will not make you a success. Success is achieves when you combined . . . . your skills . . . . motivation . . . . and desire into your activities and actions. By combining your talents you create the forward momentum . . . . that will push your forward in the direction of successfully achieving your goals.

As you move forward you will encounter many situations that will have to be managed properly . . . .  to keep you moving in the right direction. You will encounter situations that at first glance would seem overwhelming . . . .  that you feel could derail your forward progress. When confronted with a situation break the conditions drown into manageable tasks . . . . Work on the smaller tasks until you have successfully taken an overwhelming situation . . . . and resolved the condition one pierce at the time.

Managing overwhelming situations . . . .  is in your attitude of how do you eat an elephant? The answer to that question. . . . . is you eat the elephant one bit at a time. Big issues or conditions are resolved one step at a time.

The secret of getting started  . . . . puts you on the path to greater success . . . . and getting ahead. Focus on the road in front of you . . . . and continue to make progress one step at the time in the direction of your goals.

So true, Lou!  On occasion I have to remind myself about the elephant quote - I tend to want to get it all done and NOW!  But, taking one bite at a time is absolutely the key to getting the job done so you CAN get ahead!  Have a great week, Lou!

Hi Lou --- simply getting started is often the most difficult part of the task but without it, we're definitely not going anywhere.
