Dog Days

When freezing rain, sleet, rain, snow, thunder, and lightning all occur within an hour and continue in cycles over a ten hour period, it's time to stay inside and cuddle up with the dogs in Davenport, Iowa!

Not long ago, we were running around in circles in dog shows strutting our stuff (well, Reba was strutting her stuff...I was just getting winded).

When I got tired, I'd have to pass her off to a "professional" handler.

Her favorite part was running around with all the other Rhodesian Ridgebacks after the show.

When Reba got back from the dog shows, she loved to "re-unite" with her home pals.

As for now, we'll just stay indoors where it's warm!

Bryant,

That is too funny that you just sent me this message while I was reading Can't talk now. GOOGLE me!!  I only got through two links when the message came through that you were here.  Weird, huh?

I have seen and read much about Brutus Tutas and his pup sidekick.  They sound like fun.  Do you still have that racoon family hanging around?  They are fun to watch but can sure cause a ruckus!

Thanks for dropping by,

Lucky :)

Hey Lucky, I heard you guys had an ice storm and that about 17,000 people are without electricity up there!

We just got a dusting of snow and wind in Kansas and the roads were dry.  Usually we are the ones getting the ice.

Ahhhh you are making me miss the fun of the midwest, not really, but kind of!

I remember walking around the golf course where my parents live (in Omaha, Nebraska) with my pup last summer.  It was the most perfect midwest August evening.  The air temp was perfect, the humidity was low.  Dad pointed out this fabulous home on the golf course, something like 5000 square feet for $299K.  It was beautiful and I thought for a moment.  OH wait, you can't trick me, IT SNOWS HERE!  He got an A for effort.

Rob,

Actually, there were still 75,000 without power this morning.  A client of mine in Orion, Illinois is still without power and is almost bedridden with cancer real bad.  They really should take him by ambulance to the hospital but he wants to stay at home!  Read about the latest storm here

Renee,

You can't blame him for trying!
