 Alameda Bike for the Parks, a fundraiser for the parks spnsored by Alameda Friends of the Parks Foundation on Saturday October 15 at 9:00 am.  The 22 mile loop will end approximately at 12:00 Noon. Meet at Washington Park to register, adults are $45:00, children are $20.00 at 740 Central Avenue.  Please call 510-747-7529 for more information.  


Alameda Friends of the Library used book sale on Saturday, October 15 and Sunday at 9:00 am, October 16 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.  Free admission at the DeWitt “O” Club, 641 West Red Line Avenur in Alameda.

 

The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public Saturday, October 15and Tuesday, October 18  mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine.  All the fruits and vegetables are available at great prices.  So good!  Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits, vegetables and flowers.  The market is on Webster Street and Haight Avenue and is open rain or shine.

 

Native Plant Gardening on Saturday, October 15 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.  Spend time planting, pruning, mulching and helping to prepare Crab Cove’s wildlife friendly garden for the winter.  Registration required.  Please call 544-3187 for more information.  Crab Cove is located at 1252 McKay Avenue in Alameda.

 

Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Grid food trucks will be at South Shore on Saturday, October 15, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot near Petco.

Crab Cove for Family Nature Fun Hour features “Owls Around Us.”  Learn about the fascinating owls in our area and then find out what’s new at the cove on Saturday, October 15, at 2:00 pm.  Crab Cove is located at 1252 McKay Avenue. Please call 510-544-3187 for more information.

October 15: Jonathan Poretz at 7:00 pm at the Alameda Free Library featuring the Richard Hall Trio.  Jonathan Poretz salutes the Great American Crooners from Sinatra & Darin to Torme, & Bennett.  Poretz brings electric energy to the stage. Backed by his swingin' musicians, he perfoms his brand of great American standards. Tickets are $35 at the door.  The Library is at 1550 Oak Street in Alameda.

 

Vist the Haunted Hornet on Saturday, October 15 at 7:00 pm and find out for yourself if it really is haunted.  This event is going on to October 30.  Tickets are $30.00 per person and $35.00 after October 22.  The USS Hornet is at Pier 3 at Alameda Point in Alameda.
