ActiveRain Blog Posts & Activity, Lead To Opportunity!

I'm asked often, "why do you spend so much time on ActiveRain?" by some of my peers; they notice I mention AR a lot in conversations about my business and that I post many of my AR blog posts on my social media. Many of you reading this need read no further, because you know many of the benefits, but for the newer members or the infrequent posters, here's a taste of my experience the last 8 years, many of these this year!

Skills: I improve as an author and a networker, from posting daily.

Friendship: I've met and befriended many of our associates, a few in San Diego (my base) but many from around the country & Canada! Some of that I credit to the ActiveRain-Meetups we host quarterly.

Referrals: I give referrals to other agents that sometimes just get them business by connecting them to another agent, while other times I make a referral fee as it's a direct referral from me.

Extra Income: Beyond referral fees, I also have received referrals that closed escrow from my blog posts and other AR agents referring me a client.

Opportunity: I've been asked to be a guest on Podcasts to discuss specific blog posts that caught the hosts eyes. (I've even been asked to co-host one starting later this year)!

Education: I learn so much on ActiveRain through the AR University, Rain Camps, The AR Podcast, Webinars, Product Reviews and other agent's posts and the Q&A section. I also end up on the phone or in person having conversations I'd never of had otherwise, that lead to new knowledge and opportunities thanks to my AR friendships.

Exposure: In addition to all the exposure already mentioned, I'm starting to get interviewed on a semi-regular basis by other bloggers and reporters for their articles for their publications all because of an industry topic I chose to post about. Here's an example of one where both Nina Hollander and I were included in this month, click the link below. We bookend the article; Nina is in the opening of the article, you'll find me near the closing of the article too:

ActiveRain is one of the best kept secrets in Real Estate. Thought by many to be a waste of time. It's a shame.

Very cool article, I love when AR peeps get mentioned and I can say "I know them".  And yes AR is a great place for learning a ton of stuff that helps us help our clients and some real true friendships and business contacts.

Thomas, I agree. ActiveRain has been a major source of real-time training and information sharing since I began in real estate. It's a very giving community. That's what keeps  me involved and wanting to give back.
