Living/Aging Well in Douglas County: Seniors' Council November 2016 Mtg

Douglas County is one of the fastest growing counties in the country when it comes to folks 60 and older. What's the best way to be prepared for this growth explosion? Education and communication and that's what the Douglas County Seniors' Council is all about.

Please join us for our next monthly meeting. We meet on the first Thursday of every month (except for July and August). Our meeting venues vary from month to month, but they are always in Dougals County. Good morning Donna.  I'm well beyond the 60 year mile marker.  However, I am not ready to retire, retire heck I'm just getting my second wind.

The council provides valuable information and education to seniors that don't know where to go to get assistance.

With more Boomers retiring and living longer, I believe we will see more groups such as this.

We have a fast growing Douglas County here in Washington too.  It is right across the river.   We have a dual county senior center that is very active.  These are a great resource for the communities with a growing senior population... which is everywhere, isn't it???

Hi Donna Foerster - I like this.  We need something like this in Sedona. I think our average age is about 52. This is really a retirement or second home community.
