My Little Girl

I was not blessed with children of my own. Chloe was my little yorkie shih tzu mix doggy. Her birthday would have been this week so she was on my mind a lot for the past few days.  It saddens my heart that she disappeared 4 years ago after I had her for 16. She had a tendency to roam and 2 days after we moved into our new home that we built, she was gone. I searched and searched. Instead of coming home every day happy to be in a brand new home, I was heart broken.

But, I can now say that Chloe brought me so much joy in her short life.  She kept me grounded. She was very smart. I would start to sneeze and she would finish it.  If she started scratching on the bed while I was sleeping, I'd growl and she'd jump off the bed, finish scratching then jump back on the bed and go back to sleep.  She loved the air flowing through her hair in the basket on the front of my bike. I would say, "you want to take a bath" and she'd fiercly growl.

I miss you, Chloe. And I'll cherish the times we had forever.

Linda, I'm sad for your loss. Chloe, like children do become part of the family. My thoughts are with you, she's a cutie.

You need a new dog.  I am so sorry for your loss, how devastating.  A new companion would take the edge off though...

I actually DID get a new dog a year later. We named him Charlie.  But, the hurt is still there from losing Chloe.
