I discovered this beautiful rural area by chance.
I was heading to a new-home construction subdivision to preview for an out-of-state client, who would be visiting in a month or so. Over-relying on my navigation system ( which had not been updated for a few years, I have to admit), I followed the intructions, a little reluctantly, and ended up in this pretty area - cotton fields, wild life, water canal.
As it often happens in our Phoenix area, streets lead to a dead end, then, they continue again, but on the other side of a field, or neighborhood. My destination was on the same street, but not even in sight.
I enjoyed looking at the cotton plants. At the peaceful crane, who wondered what exactly I was up to, but turned his back and walked gracefully in a different direction.
I took a few photos, smelled the air, turned back and drove to the busy highway - the subdivision actually was quite near it.
