I am the luckiest girl in the World:  I live in Myrtle Beach, SC!  My office is walking distance to the Beach, my home is mere minutes away.

Today we packed some snacks and refreshments in our cooler, an umbrella, a few towels and off we went.  My daughter Amanda, her best friend Ivy and I laid out on the warm sand all day long.  We listened to music, talked, played and frolicked in the Atlantic.  Summer is already here.

There was a light breeze in the air; the water was so blue and enticing.   What a gorgeous day it was; I wish you were here!

I did not have the camera with me, but I'm posting some pictures taken in prior years.  When are you coming to visit?

Yes, Myrtle Beach is a great place, but there are certain times of the year that really brings in the crowds, such as "bike week". I was there in May of 2002 - no idea of how crazy it could be & had no idea it was bike week, either. I want to come back at another time when NOT so crowded & crazy! - Carla

Bike weeks are CRAZY.  Stay away from the center of town!  North Myrtle Beach is much quieter during Bike Weeks.

Looks wonderful! When can I come?? I envy you...  I would love to just be able to take a walk on the beach whenever I felt like it.  I need to drive 45 minutes at least to see the Atlantic and even then it is probably cold. It has been cold and rainy in the Northeast all week.  This next week looks a little more promising... sunny and 70's.  Have a great week and think of me next time you head to the beach.

Monique, you'll envy me even more when I tell you that I keep my jogging outfit in the trunk of my car at all times, so I can take a jog on the beach at any time (to air out my brain).

During the summer I also keep my bathing suit and a towel in my trunk at all times.  When my business gets too stressful, or if an appointment doesn't show up and the weather is perfect, I just go to the beach and swim in the ocean for the rest of the day.  The water is so warm during the summer.

In the evenings we have picnics on the beach.  It's so beautiful!  Having dinner on a blanket is perfect!

By the way, I'll think of you tomorrow when I go jogging on the beach.

Ooooh, Im jealous!  It's really pretty here in DC at the moment, before the brutally humid summer heat strikes, but the sea....   I can really smell it from your pictures!  It' so soothing, and if I could, I would carry a swimsuit in my trunk as well.

Myrtle Beach is truly a beautiful place!  You owe it to yourself to come and visit.  May is absolutely gorgeous here.  The crowds are not yet here and the weather is perfect.  September is also perfect.  July is the busiest, and usually the time I get away from the beach.  This year I am going to Alaska.  Any tips?

Thank you all for your wonderful comments!  Come visit me soon, "ya'll"!!!

Hi Mirela,

Whar a blessing to be right on the beach!

Natural rythms of the ocean are healing.  I grew up in Hawaii and played in the ocean all the time.

Thank You for your beautiful pictures!

Barbara-Jo:  Thank you!

Dan:  It is a blessing indeed!  Where in Hawaii?  I just LOVE Hanauma Bay!  It is my favorite spot for snorkeling.   I've been to the Caymen, snorkeled Jack Cousteau's Blue Hole in Belize, did Jamaica, Cozumel, St. Martin, and I still prefer Hanauma Bay over everything else.  It is an awesome spot!
