Did You Know Cleaning Toilets Could Be Part of Glamorous Agent's Job?
by San Jose REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
Inspired by the Q & A Question "Do You Have Any Interesting Stories About a Final Walk Through of a Property Before Closing?"
Clients often have the misperception that real estate is a glamorous job. Here's a tale showing how glamorous real estate really is.
I'll never forget the walk-through with the 90-year-old legally blind Seller who was not going to do even one more thing for the Buyers-only to discover the toilet was dirty-really dirty. She probably in honesty could not even "see" it.
I can still remember that walk through and cleaning that toilet for my buyers with a smile on my face. "Cleaning toilets"-I do not recall that it was anywhere in the original real estate agent job description.
However, I'd been well trained by my late mommy, Silicon Valley legendary agent Judy Carr, to "do what it takes to close". So I smiled and cleaned the toilet-and we happily closed on time.
