If you are looking for something to do to celebrate the fall and Halloween season, I know of two wonderful corn mazes in this area. Take the kids and have fun getting lost in a corn field. The mazes are a fun time for the entire family, and both places offer a night maze as well as a daytime one. The mazes are the same, but the night maze is lighted and more challenging.
The Red Shed Produce Stand east of Delta on Highway 92 will be open until the end of October, and the corn maze is open as long as the stand is still open. The shop opens at 9AM and on school nights it closes at about 6PM. On the weekend nights it stays open longer, and the maze is lighted up. A hayride and pumpkin are also included in the price. It's $7/adults, $5 for kids and a family of four can enjoy the maze for $20. Group rates are also available. Call 970-874-8888.
DeVries Fruit and Veggie Stand is on Highway 50 and Gunnison Rd just south of Olathe. Here you will find a very large corn maze and a hay bale maze. There's also a special scaled down hay bale maze for younger children. DeVries does a lighted night maze on Friday and Saturday from 6PM to 9PM. The mazes will stay open until the end of October. Call 970-323-6559 for more information and pricing.
Both places have a great selection of pumpkins and fall produce.
