Weekend Movie - Tom Cruise - 'Never Go Back'
I have been looking forward to this film for a long while now. I may have inadvertantly made a mistake in my timing in seeing it. With that said I was at the Bonners Mall Theaters in Ponderay-Sandpoint Idaho for the first showing at 11:10AM Friday morning. I enjoyed the movie. Enjoyed Tom Cruise's performance. And of course reading the books makes character 'Jack Reacher' seem like an old friend.
With this movie I could have just as easily been going to see 'Reacher's' female counter part, Cobie Smulders. Which was OK because she was definitely a stud and equal to holding up her end of the duo. Reminded me of 'Safe House' with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. A good movie, lots of action, good plot. But all the advertising was 'Denzel Washington'. Easily half the movie was around Ryan Reynolds' character, as was the case in 'Reacher-Never go Back' and Cobie Smulders.
So I suspect I will enjoy this movie more the 2nd time knowing and looking forward to the dual 'lead'. I would suggest this movie in the theater if a 'Jack Reacher' Fan. Otherwise waiting for DVD will be just right. And my possible TIMING error? Seeing this so soon after 'Deepwater Horizon'. There was no comparison, in my opinion, between the two and easily suggest Deepwater over Reacher for your Big Screen Choice.

I enjoyed Deepwater and had many comments the same. I have worked oil fields and was familiar with much of what they talked and were doing. Maybe that made a difference. The people in the oil field were much the same as portrayed as well.
