One of the big reasons I live and work in Laveen Arizona, is the space. There are several areas of Laveen that offer up homes on acreage, and when you have more open space you get to enjoy more wildlife.
Below is a Harris hawk I saw on the way home from an appointment. This is in an area of homes on acreage, close to the South Mountain preserve. You can also view horse properties here:

I live in Central Oregon. I enjoy (or not) wildlife almost daily. I do get annoyed, however, at the daily intrusions of deer in my yard!

David, Always nice to have some elbow room around you and have control over what happens immediately around your home. Hawks are pretty awesome birds! We get a lot of the red tail variety here, see plenty of them up and down the interstate patrolling the medians and the edges, and we know to keep an eye out for them in the surrounding trees when we take our Chihuahuas outside in our back yard.

Nice to see hawks flying in the air... we rarely see them over here in Hawaii.
Great shot! My daughter is currently on a road trip, heading back to NH from Arizona. She has taken some beautiful pictures.
