Fed speakers continue to roil markets with widely varying yet provocative comments. Fed President Evans said today that there may be as many as three rate hikes between now and the end of next year. At the same he said that in order to meet the Fed's 2% inflation target, we may have to keep rates low for a long period of time. Huh? Meanwhile Fed President Williams said this December this year would be a good time to raise rates. Fed futures currently predict a 71% chance of a December rate hike. The Dow lost 53 points today.
