How About This for a Fiscal Stimulus Plan?

Maybe...just maybe if the govenment lifted some regulatory burdens temporarily or delayed the 'global warming act' just temporarily it could create fiscal stimulus far beyond what Bernanke and the Fed can't seem to get done...

There are many proposals at the State for some economic stimulus and they include eliminating red tape for building permits, allowing flexible work schedules without mandatory overtime after 8 hours and allowing the purchase of health insurance through any licensed provider.

It appears the most attractive however is a call to postpone compliance with 2006's economy-retarding "Global Warming Solutions Act" which would allow technology to catch up with the changes in law and therefore allow a smoother transition into compliance with the law.  *It would also save California Businesses and Consumers hundreds of millions of dollars, according to the Senate Republican Caucus' proposal.

Many feel that the $511 Billion cost is excessive (yikes! that is half a trillion dollars) especially with the latest news reported by Reuters (quite reputable in everyones opinion) that parts of North America and Europe may cool naturally over the next decade as shifting ocean currents blunt the global-warming effect caused by mankind.  Results would make the temperatures in California and France decrease 10 degrees over the next 10 years. And many scientists already claim that global temperatures have been flat the past ten years, making the threat of disastrous manmade global warming look less likely every year.

That $511 Billion is looking better to me every day!  And it sure could help the economy....
