Hermann Minowski was born in Aleksotas, Russian Empire back in 1864 to Lewin and Rachel. In 1872 the family moved to Konigserg. He studied in Konigsberg and taught in Bonn from 1887 to 1894.
He moved to Zurich and taught there from 1896 to 1902 when he died suddenly of appendicitis in Gottingen. So, you may be asking yourself why I am writing about this obscure person. Well I’m so glad you have that thought for what he did during his short lifetime was nothing short of historical.
For you see his parents were Jewish and that is why they moved to Konigserg. He is noted for creating and developing the geometry of number and used that method to solve problems in number theory, mathematical physics and the theory of relativity. Now just imagine of what else he could have done had he lived longer. As a Post Script one of his former students was none other than Albert Einstein. Thus ends the history lesson for today.
