Love is what brings change. Not politics, not fear, not anger, not bigotry, not bullying others to see life as you see it. We can see life through each other's eyes, and still remain true to our convictions. It is not about tolerance...I hate that word. Tolerance says, "you are wrong and I am right, but I will stand by and let you be wrong." LOVE says, "Right or wrong, I value you."
Love. I pray every person finds a way to love today. I pray for our nation, so desperately in need of healing. I pray that your heart will know real love today...for REAL love is what Christ preaches. NOT judgment. "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Me? I don't care who you did or did not vote for. I care that YOU are a divine creation of the LORD. And for that, no matter what we agree or disagree on, I love you.
The above is what I posted on my Facebook page this morning after reading countless hateful and ugly posts from both sides of the political engine. I can't help but wonder, when did this become our reality? And what did the American people REALLY expect to happen in this election? We the People are the ones that voted for a campaign that more closely resembled a reality TV show than a political campaign. So no matter who came out the victor, there was sure to be strong reactions.
Let's stand together and have a strong reaction of LOVE.
We need to remember that it is kindness born out of love for our fellow human being that CAN and DOES change a life - which in turn, changes the world.
