Yesterday was the Marine Corps 241st Birthday, and today Veterans Day. Being the daughter and wife of two veterans, these two days will always be near to my heart.
Living in a military town, it is such an honor for me to work with so many veterans who have so selflessly devoted their time to protecting our great country. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

Don't know what is so "Happy" about it. People die in war. Those that don't, come home with PTSD. It used to be called "shell shock" . . . we update the sound bite of the mental/physical health issues, but it's still war as the caissons go rolling along. My father got lead shrapnel in his leg which turned into gangrene. He had to get his leg amputated with a 4" stump left.

Carla Muss-Jacobs, Principal Broker (503) 810-7192 - my father also had shrapnel in his leg and was told it would have to be amputated during WWII. One young doctor said maybe they could try this new medicine - penicillin. He was woken up every 4 hours and given a huge shot - but it saved his leg. Mangled but saved.
And I understand the "Happy" - it's just a tribute -

My great uncles served in Europe during the First World War
My father and both uncles served in the Second World War.
My wife lost her uncle in Vietnam.

This is what I think of when it comes to our freedoms like voting, religion, free speech and travel. Next time you eat a burger & fries or go to the movies or perhaps BBQ with friends and neighbors, consider it is no accident that you can do this but instead, hard fought and won. Now, to keep it all AND we will!
I only have great respect for our country and military. Let's make this country great again.
