Today I'm thankful for our real estate assistant Barney!

Barney - the best real estate assistant in the world!!

Our little guy Barney will be with us now for 4 years at Christmas Time and he's 10. He's a total joy to have around the office! He just doesn't let us get to serious or work too late without letting us know - hey what about play time!! And every time he hears a noise it's 'our job' to get up and let him outside to prospect with the neighborhood dogs. He sometimes get very insistent about getting out there and doing his job too!

How did we get Barney? We short sold a house for a lovely retired couple and they just couldn't take Barney with them to their new home. He was originally supposed to stay at the home with the new buyers but they changed their minds at the last moment. A day before Christmas the seller called me all upset and panicked - asking if we could please take Barney as they knew we'd been loving on him for 6 months already. It would have broken their hearts to put him in a shelter. My answer? Of course we'll take Barney! And here he is, a regular member of the family and the office family too! We love our little guy and are so thankful for the fun and joy he brings to our lives every single day!

Today I'm thankful for our real estate assistant Barney!

It truly is amazing how much support we get from our fur buddies while doing day to day routine. I have an extra chair next to my own in front of the computer. Camilla, one of my cats, is there about 70% of the time. It's nice to be able to work, and reach over and pet for a little mutual admiration once in awhile!

That is so awesome. One time my cat had kittens and my husband made me give them away. The last one, I didn't want to give up but my sister-in-law said she'd take it. I saw how she treated her animals so I was glad to give him a good home. Turns out, she had given the cat to her best friend who moved out and left the cat there in the vacant house! Then the landlord just turned it loose! I was heartbroken. I will never give away another animal again unless it's an emergency situation, and even then I will make damn sure the person I entrust it to is going to keep it.
