What is Your 30-Second Elevator Speech

What is your specialty? What part of the business do you enjoy the most? Which areas do you want to concentrate in?

What is your thirty-second pitch?

For example, if you say "Luxury Homes," tell us what that means for you and your clients. Or look at the word, "Foreclosure." That is a good buzz word that isn't elaborated on enough as a marketing tool.

I could say that I sell businesses and international real estate, but that doesn't tell you much, does it?

Here's my 30-second take:

"I am a Financial Educator committed to raising your Financial IQ. I teach everyone that their mortgage is a tax deductible financial tool, not just a debt. Properly structured your mortgage will: 1)Allow you to invest more money for retirement and college. 2)Protect your money in case of disability or job loss. 3)Permit you instant access to your money in case of emergency or opportunity. It also, 4)Reduces the federal income taxes you pay. I have a free DVD that explains all of this to you. Let me get you information and I will mail you one."

Thank you to Ed Conarchy for helping me perfect that

I think you need several concise elevator speeches ready depending on your "audience".  Making sure that each sounds genuine. spontaneous and not canned is the goal.

Now you need the audience> even the best instrument can't help if we do not have the audience.

Wishing you a lot of audiencde

This is good. Yes, we all need them. Sometimes we need several depending on who we are talking to.

I'm just not sure about the whole "elevator speech" thing. I'd just rather be me because at the end of the day it's about people.

Bernie, I really liked your elevator speech. It was very clear and offered benefits to the listener.

John,

The DVD is Ric Elderman's. Ed Conarchy from Loan Tool Box turned me on to his teachings. I also have bought Ed's coarse as well, and this is where I received my best education in the mortgage business..

Gary,

Thank you for your input I really appreciate that encouragement..

Sounds great to me!  I have a 30 second that I tailor to each specific scenario.  It si not the same to everyone that asks.

I have found trying to tailor it to different people I started studdering, and floundering, so what did I do I came up with one for myself for everyone to understand what it is I do for a living.

"I help homeless people find homes" ....that always gets their attention.  Then the "REALLY??" question will come pretty quick.  It's a way to break the ice.
