Day 3 of 10 Day Thanksgiving Challenge | Friendships
Most of my friendships have formed as an adult. There are very few childhood bonds due to the nomadic lifestyle of a military brat. As soon as a connection began to form, off we'd go to a new location to begin again. And it is true what they say about friendships that come and go.
It was me that usually went!
My husband and I maintain a small circle of what is considered true friends. We laugh together, celebrate often, have discussions about life events, plan events and travel when possible. The main theme that runs true with all of us is mutual trust, affection and respect.
One of our favorite things to do locally with friends, is golf. At least once a week we get together with 2 other couples and we play Best Ball. What an opportunity to get out among the red rock bluffs and jutting cliffs, pristine greens and rolling fairways to play a round!
Boy George recently came to Tuacahn Amphitheater in Ivins and a few of us dressed up! What a FUN evening that started off with drinks and eats before the concert and then ended with a night of dancing and reminiscing about the 80s. Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma chameleon...
There are some high school friends who I love dearly and so many more that I have from days past. We keep in touch long distance, quite often on Facebook and I so cherish those long-standing relationships. We share recipes, quotes, memes and come from a respectful place.
So very thankful for the love and support of the people in our lives. True friends elevate good times and make hard times a bit more bearable!
