About a hundred years ago, I signed up with Amway, both to use the products and to earn a residual income off of a down-line yet to be signed up.
With my thinking cap on, I thought about who would be the perfect candidate for my down-line, and a divorcee came to mind. Who would need additional income more than a divorced person?
This was back in the day of "Parents Without Partners," and I myself was divorced. So was the Lady that worked for me. There was a dance coming up in San Clemente on Friday Night, at the Moose Lodge. So off Paula and I went. She was asked to dance and I looked for people that I could talk to about selling Amway. Yes, I have always been a work-aholic!
After the song was over, Paula brought her dance partner back to the table, it was Larry. Then someone else asked her to dance and she got up and left him sitting there with me! I got so indignant! That was not how you treat people...Larry must have felt sorry for me because he asked me to dance, and I said no! I didn't want to step on his feet. He said I wouldn't so under my breath I said, okay here we go! And we did! We stayed on the dance floor the rest of the night! I did not step on his feet once! That was in January 1981, and we have been together ever since! Several months later we got married and our Happily Ever After has continued for 35 years!
I really am Thankful for Amway!
