It is the season to give thanks and for me it starts with the reality of just being here and healthy. Back in the early 1980's, I was faced with a decision regarding my health that could have left me completely incapacitated or even worse.
I was fortunate to have excellent doctors and came through my travails a different person and can honestly say it changed my life focus.
I made decisions that no one in their early 30's should have to make, which resulted in a complete change in lifestyle, work prospects, and even a change in my marital status.
I became more appreciative of the things I have around me, family, friends, and activities that will not only make me a happier person but also allow me to be healthier.
I time I connected with a person that I felt I could share life with and we just celebrated our 22 wedding anniversary.
We work our jobs and try to enjoy the things around us, but without our health, no amount of money can allow us to live a comfortable and happy life.
