Door Knocking has come back in vogue in some areas as  a method of prospecting...lead generation....farming.  Results Door Knockwith it...like any method, vary from place to place and time to time. It is not a method we have or would use to generate business.

My questions to the the Homeowner were pretty simple...had the agent been inside the house ?  No.   Did the agent want to set an appointment to tour the home and give you a price that he believed the market would support ?  No.

Good morning, Sally K. & David L. Hanson naive homeowners are a great target for the hungry agent drooling while he envisions his next meal.... I sooo dislike the knocking on doors approach...

Good morning Sally and David.  I know that I would be very annoyed if a real estate agent showed up unannounced at my door.  So, I see no reason for me to annoy others.

Perhaps this agent would benefit from a gracious phone call explaining 'agent etiquette' -

Your questions are good ones, and the knocker can say anything that is not supported by facts.

I remember a time not that long ago when door to door solicitation was very common....now it is very suspect.

Good morning Sally and David. Door knocking is so 80's! Was this one of your listings with a sign out front? A managing broker would be getting a call! Enjoy your day!

Sally K. & David L. Hanson door knocking & harrassing is back in a big way in my area...some sellers who have decided not to sell say that agents will NOT stop calling them week after week and several dozen of them.. they can't believe it.

Good morning, Sally and David -- there are many different ways to practice real estate.   In certain markets and with certain people, door knocking is quite successful when done consistently and in a professional manner.

This is not an approach I have taken, or will, but I know a few agents that do (at least the door knocking part, perhaps not this specific tactic).
