Oh, That KITCHEN!

I'll never forget visiting this house for the first time! The wife is a marketing guru and had phoned me to ask about listing her Charlotte area luxury home. They were interviewing several agents and had THE best list of questions I've ever had from sellers! But, I digress...

Mr. Seller met me at the door - it was an early morning appointment and he proudly boasted that he forgot I was coming and that he hoped I didn't mind that he hadn't gotten himself ready! (We still laugh about that today!) He proceeded to give me the grand tour, sharing wonderful information that I hoped I would remember as we went along - the details were incredibly through and very specific.

You see, Mr. & Mrs. Seller decided to build several years ago. They agreed to 'shop' on their own for plans and reconnect to share their 3 favorites. Oddly enough, out of the thousands of plans they reviewed, they both had selected the very plan that they wound up building as one of their top 3! They spent a year building this gem and every single detail was carefully selected. Granite, flooring and lighting were imported - and SPECTACULAR!

This kitchen is simply to-die-for! From the chicken-wired French Country hutch to the imported (positively stunning) Umbarana Brazilian granite countertops, the large peninsula with separate salad sink to the 10-foot kitchen island, this kitchen is truly magazine-cover-worthy!

Following are not entries for this contest (just the photo above) but, I thought I would share some more photos, displaying the beautiful details of this home.

the level of craftsmanship in the millwork was tremendous in this home!

It looks like a fabulous kitchen, but the photograph does not due it justice. There are some problems going on in the kitchen ceiling and the room with the fireplace in the background. Sorry to criticize, but it just is not up to my standards for a professional image.

Michael Jacobs - I found that incredible as well! I remember looking over plans with my husband before we built and one of us wanted to majorly tweek nearly every plan we came across! We wound up going to an architect who happened to be the best listener - EVER! He created exactly what we both wanted!
