I am Thankful for the Beach

A Little Piece of Heaven

 Beach at Destin

It takes 8 hours to get to the beach if we drive but once I am there I feel like I am in heaven. The sugar sand beaches of Destin are the prettiest beaches I know and the water is so pretty in contrast to it.

I am thankful for beaches, walking in the sand, sitting and reflecting, getting time to read and chill out on the beach and looking for seashells. I like jumping the waves and wading in to my knees. Some of my best memories as a child were hunting for the most unique sea creatures and their shells. The big shells sounded like the ocean waves.

The beach is calming and a place where the cares of the world just fall away. I am thankful for the beachand I get to go there.

Debbie I can be at a beach in less than an hour.  I use to go to the beach all the time when I was growing up, but even though we have several beaches very close by, I have not been to one in years.  May be it will be something I will enjoy doing with my granddaughter as she grows up :)

I am a mountain man and not so much a beach person do to the lack of getting thrown in water at 6 and almost did not make it in a lake.

What a calm and soothing photo Debbie. I too really enjoy walking on the beach and hearing the waves come in to the shore.

I can relkate to your feelings about the beach. I feel the same way, but I love the mountains too and we recently moved from the coast of new England to the mountains of North Georgia. I get to the beach whenever we go back to New England to visit.

Hi Debbie Reynolds , While in California, just minutes from the beach, it was part of the lifestyle there.  We don't see much of a beach anymore, here in Indiana, although Lake Michigan is just an hour away.

It takes over 5 hours for us to get to the Oregon beach, but we go there at least once a year.

We love the Oregon coast and it is one of our retreats.  I agree - it is a little piece of heaven.

Debbie Reynolds - That is one beautiful beach, and that sand is awesome! Amazing beaches are a gift to be thankful for, even if it takes eight hours to get to them!

Good morning, Debbie. I've always loved being near water, as I've always found it a calming environment. Unfortunately, I have an allergy to the sun so have to be very careful about the time I spend on a beach in the sun.
