Belinda Spillman is hosting an ActiveRain Challenges this month titled "Third Annual Pay It Forward ActiveRain Challenge For December. Belinda's challenge simply asks us to share the random acts of kindness we have done. December is an easy month to be kind to others especially with the spirit of Christmas in the air. I have had a number of things I always do at this time of the year, along with others which are done randomly when opportunities present themselves. Below are some of the Random Acts Of Kindness For 2016 which I have already done, and a couple will will be doing.
I always donate to toys to the toy drive the Middlesex Chamber Real Estate Council does every year. The Real Estate Council collects toys for needy children at the Middlesex Chamber Real Estate Council Holiday Luncheon which is held in early December, and sponsored by the Lender I work for. I will also contribute toys for two toy drives a couple of Real Estate Offices I partner with do during this time of the year.
My wife and also donate to a couple of programs our church does during this time of year. Our church is providing 100 baskets with all the fixings for a Thanksgiving Dinner. The Church my wife and I go to decided to participate in a new program this year called "Fresh Start". My wife and I have been donating items and funds to the Fresh Start program throughout the year. The Fresh Start program does exactly what the name implies. The program helps family who have lost their home to fire or other major catastrophe by helping them get a "fresh start" with furniture, appliances, cloths, food, and other needed items. This year our Church has adopted two families for Christmas, and are providing everything they needed to get started again. We are also helping other families with spot items as needed. We also have collections a couple of times a year so we can purchase items we do not have and for new mattresses because old mattresses cannot be donated.
The other acts of kindness will be done at random. For example the last few years a couple of my neighbors have needed help clearing their driveways and sidewalks of snow, so I will continue to assist them this year.
I could go on about other Random Acts Of Kindness For 2016 which both my wife and I have done through out the month, but these are already more than I like to talk about, because these acts are things we do privately. I hope each and everyone takes not only this time of the year, but every opportunity throughout the year to do something kind for someone else when there is an opportunity to do so.
