Thanks For the Memories

By
Real Estate Agent

We spend a lifetime building precious memories.  But, many of us reach an age where memories are lost to Alzheimer’s, or some other health issue.  I feel blessed and I am very thankful, to still have most of my precious memories!

This month, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, Debbie Reynolds (the Real Debbie Reynolds) is hosting a 10 Day Thanksgiving Post Challenge.  This is Day 7.

Chris Ann Cleland - I have a longtime friend, and retired Realtor, who developed the disease, and is in the thick of it.  It is sad to see her not remembering her family or friends any longer.  I am hopeful they make scientific progress in treating this disease, and it has benefit for your mother.

Endre Barath, Jr. - There have been some great men and women stricken by this disease.

Good morning, Myrl... what lovely photos that obviously bring back wonderful memories. Having had several friends who died of Alzheimers and dementia, I know what a hard road that is to travel and now you've made me thankful for my memories as well.

What beautiful photos - your inner happiness shines through!

As for Alzheimer's, ugh, what a disease. My mother-in-law is suffering from it now and when she realizes what she doesn't realize she is incredibly unhappy.

Our memories are precious and when we can doucument through our photos it enhances the experience by bringing them up t us more often. As for Alzheimer's, what a awful disease, robbing people of those precious memories.

Hi  Myrl Jeffcoat Great Memories you have with your family. I too worry about losing my mind, do you go into a room and forget why what you went to get?...Ha

One of the reason I keep doing real estate is to keep my mind working(thinking) works for me most of the time.

Cheers

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

Happy Thanksgiving Myrl

Myrl Jeffcoat - Thank you for sharing your beautiful family photographs. There shines within genuine pride and joy in each of your photos. Plus, I can see a resemblance to you in every photo! We truly are lucky to have digital cameras these days. Keeping a photo journal preserved is the greatest gift to pass on to family members.

For Thanksgiving, let's give thanks for family. For Christmas, let's ask for a cure for Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia too.

Hi Myrl, You know your grandson Ryan is so danged cute, even if he did scare the beejesus outta me. What is he doing now?

As for memories, I once had a dream when I was in my early 20s about being allowed to move through a wall and join a parallel universe in exchange for giving up my memories. I could live there forever, like a reverse Dorian Gray, and I did it. Well, in my dream. Hope to never lose my memories in real life.

Fred Carver Personal Real Estate Corporation - I'm fortunate that Alzheimer's and Dementia do not seem to run in my family.  However, it worries me a little when I occasionally walk into a room and wonder why I went there.

Patricia Feager - Family is everything!  And, I like your idea of asking for a cure for those two tragic diseases!

Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents - Well, believe it or not, Ryan turned 21 a few days ago.  The family is celebrating that milestone this Friday evening!  He's attending Georgia Tech as a mechanical engineering student.  He wants to design cars.

Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert - You're right!  Tami received her doctorate in 2015.
