I love Green Seattle! I love Built Green, going green, green living, eco living, etc. - you name it, I love it! I am even working on my ECO Broker designation, but I have a seen a few things lately that aren't so green. Green Built in Seattle is a great concept and we should all be thinking about living a little or a lot more green.
I recently wrote about a development claiming to be a Built Green in Seattle Suburbs. This development even changed their entry sign to say they were "built green". I saw only one aspect of those homes that could have possibly been a bit more energy efficient and maybe a little green. The rest was blatantly not green. I am sure even a non educated green buyer will see through this gimmick, but it still upset me. Going green should be about living green for the environment - not about making green off of something that isn't really that green.
I have seen so many incredibly well thought out green built townhomes, houses, and condos and the majority of the Built Green houses and developments are very thoughtful as to green living and earth in general. Make sure and do your homework when you are shopping for green real estate in Seattle.
