The outdoor fairs and festivals are now in abundance here in North County San Diego, and what better way to enjoy the terrific weather and all the cultural activities we have in our coastal beach communities (the Annual Carlsbad Village Street Fair was May 4; the Encinitas Street Fair was the previous weekend).
Coming in June, the Fletcher Cove area in beautiful Solana Beach will be the setting the for 2008 Fiesta del Sol Festival, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the City of Solana Beach, and the famous Belly Up.
The Belly Up, well known for the live music for 31 years at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach’s Cedros District, will oversee the musical talents for the Fiesta del Sol Festival, so we are assured the musical performances featuring some fun bands will be outstanding.

The festival entertainment is free and there will be something for everyone. You’ll find an international food court, beer garden (yep, ya gotta be 21), arts and crafts along the street adjacent to the beautiful cove, children’s activities and more.
Travelers – remember that weekends along the coast can get busy and with expected attendance of 50,000, parking may be a challenge. Why not use the COASTER – there’s a stop in town and you can walk to the festival from the train station. There will be free parking and shuttle services as well.
This should be a terrific event in a gorgeous setting. Get it on your calendar now.
