Thankful for My Soulmate
Many years ago, I was in a session with a metaphysicist in Houston. Some of my co-workers had gone for fun and we all ended up giving it a try.
As I sat there, she told me that my young man and I were not married but that we would be someday. I just had to give him time. She also said that we had been married to each other in at least 3 of our previous lives.
Of course, while I always keep an open-for-anything mind, I was a bit cynical because how in the world do you prove that!
However, after almost 40 years together, I have to say she was right. Larry and I never had a date, not in the traditional sense. We were part of a wonderful group at our apartment complex. We played water volleyball, cards, and went out as a huge group on Friday and Saturday nights.
I am forever grateful that the powers that be in the matchmaker world put us together.
He is my hero, my friend and the love of my life.
Larry was an F-4 pilot who sat nuclear alerts and air defense. He has the calm that pilots have which balances my knee-jerk reaction personality.
He is also a problem solver. Most of us look for solutions to a problem by going from point A to point B. Larry looks for alternatives and not just the direct course of action.
I love the life we’ve had and wouldn’t have changed a thing about it.
So I guess you could say that the metaphysicist in Houston was right.
(by the way, she also told me that he was out buying a boat or thinking of buying a boat that day.
Sure, I thought! That night after work when I asked Larry how his day was...he said…
I was out looking at a boat for us!
