I’m Thankful for Health, Happiness and Home
While I am thankful each and every day of my life, today, I began making a list of the things for which I am thankful, in order to pick one last topic to post for Debbie Reynolds' 10-day Thanksgiving Post Challenge. I realized that was an impossible task so, I thought I’d touch on several things on this, Thanksgiving Day!
The first thing that I am grateful for is obviously my faith, which drives me in all that I do. I am so thankful for the strength and the conviction that my faith gives me, to always do the right thing and love one another. Regardless of your faith, be faithful and remember that kindness is at the heart of our religions!
I have the most amazing, supportive, loving family, friends, clients and colleagues that one can imagine - I don’t know what I would do without each and every one of them/you — including my unbelievable husband, Ray. He is my hero, my inspiration and the man in my life who tolerates the crazy hours that I work in this business - and he does this with a smile on his face and eyes wide open!
In our home, today we are blessed with good health, lots of wonderful, caring family, friends and clients. Love and appreciation is at the core of these relationships and I was reminded last night as I checked into Facebook, how blessed we are with friends from afar. To the friends who left ‘virtual’ hugs and heartfelt messages, I wonder if each and every one of you have any idea how my heart swelled reading these messages—I am truly thankful!
I’m so very thankful for the health and well-being of both of our boys who are excelling in their own lives--both loving, caring boys who have matured into wonderful young men. Yes, I am biased...and blessed! And, of course, our daughter-in-law, Meli! We absolutely adore her and are so blessed to have her in all of our lives - not just Matt’s!
Of course, I can’t forget our fur babies, Barney, Duke & Charlotte (our cat)! Don’t you just love that unconditional love they bestow upon us? Walking through the door at the end of the day, being greeted by Barney & Duke’s curly tails, beating the cabinets and walls down the hallway as they run to greet me at the door -- just makes my day!
I’m thankful for my home and I love where I live! Not only the foundation of the home but, the love and friendships shared inside the walls and the warmth that I feel when I am there. We love entertaining so, we have had already had so much enjoyment here in the 2 short years we’ve been in this home! I live in SouthPark, truly the center of Charlotte and couldn’t be happier - it takes me no time to get to any corner of the county!
For the life-changing ‘luxuries’ that I've been blessed to enjoy from the fruits of my labor, I will also forever be grateful!
- Being able to raise our boys, getting them through college during The Great Recession and now, each of them living independently.
- Being able to afford the antibiotics and other medications, medical equipment and medical supplies that my husband has required over the years that insurance doesn’t cover.
- The ability to live a debt-free life (with the exception of my mortgage - still working on that!)
- Hire a top-ranked coach to get me into shape!
- The luxury of building a home, exactly like we wanted - and in the exact location that we wanted.
Our lives have been filled with so much warmth, happiness and love that I can never begin to express my gratitude. Let me simply say this, thank you ALL, from the bottom of my heart for another year of friendships as well as business relationships. You have a very special place in my heart!
REMEMBER: thankfulness is a state of mind, a feeling or expression of gratitude--something we choose to ponder or express. We don’t often enough share our appreciation to others in our lives; as much as we ‘feel’ gratitude, the sharing of it is what truly means more than just keeping our thoughts to ourselves. So, take the time to share your gratitude with those to whom you are thankful, today and every day of the year!
Today, I am thankful for so very much and I wish for you all a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.
