Gratitude - Day 8 - Dirty Dishes - Seriously!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Capital Properties DC AB15253

There are always two ways of looking at anything. The trick is to find that way of looking at them!  After all, isn't that the point of the contest by Debbie Reynolds - to make us see the many things for which we have to be grateful?

I confess that my kitchen is filled with some dirty dishes and pots and pans.   Those dirty dishes are one of two things - the remainder of a dinner party or the reminder of a dinner party filled with friends and family.

You can look at nearly anything and turn it upside down to get a better view of it and a more positive attitude.  It probably won't make the dishes get done any more quickly, but at least I won't mind doing them quite so much when I remember all the laughs and giggles we had last night.

By this afternoon I will have everything washed and put away where it belongs and I will get back to working at more important things like Lead Generation - but at least I will start with a smile on my face!

That is a great way to look at dirty dishes. Ours are all clean and except for those in the dishwasher are put away. I hope you had a delightful Thanksgiving.

I cooked a very large TG meal and washed all my pots and pans while I was cooking. When I was done cooking there were no dirty dishes. We were not able to use our fine china this year, as it is packed away.

Sussie Sutton - I used good china so everything had to be hand washed.... I got the china done last night and left it to air dry before I packed it away with the dividers/cushions this morning - from now to Christmas I use my Spode Christmas tree china! Pots and pans are all washed now though and i am thinking of polishing the silver before I put it away for the next time it comes out at Christmas - OMG - I am officially nuts

Most of our big dishes were washed as they were completed before dinner.  The dish washer took care of the remainder

Lottie Kendall - happily that was a stock photo -  I got out a set of china that I had not used in several years and was pleased to have a chance to enjoy it all over again, but it did mean that I had to wash everything by hand! Fortunately it was only nine of us - but still ....

With dishes like that . . . . it's time move and leave them for the new owner.

Good luck and success.'

Hi Lise.  We finish up cleaning most things in the wee hours of the morning after the meal.  But, I like the way you look at this.

Lise- now that's putting a positive spin on it and you're so right to do that.  The amount of dirty dishes is in direct proportion to the fun memories you made.
