Wilbur Chocolate, Lititz, Pennsylvania
When you explore the area around Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Lititz is one of the towns you will want to visit. There is much history to appreciate in Lititz but one of my favorite places to visit is Wilbur Chocolate at 45 North Broad Street, Lititz PA 17543. This is a new address. They have moved across the street to their new building. Click on the link to reach the website. Chef Dolores and I were there last week. They have a large selection for gift ideas.
I am having one of their dark chocolate malted milk balls as I write this blog. The roots of Wilbur Chocolate go back to 1884 in Philadelphia where Henry Oscar Wilbur began his chocolate business. They consolidated in Lititz in 1934. This company is now part of Cargill, Inc. and produces millions of pounds of superior chocolate and confectionery products each year. The Wilbur Bud is the post popular treat. Yes, you can sample some Buds while watching the workers make chocolate candy.
