Make Your Listing More Memorable With An Extreme Close-Up

By
Home Stager with Sharon Tara Transformations

Real estate photos sell homes.

It's the pictures that buyers first see online that determine which homes they will visit for a closer look and which homes they will discard as unacceptable.

It's important to note that visual appeal is not the only thing to strive for when photographing a home for sale.

Emotional appeal is also important.

Something home stagers often do is shoot a close-up shot of a decorative item, making it the focal point, with a positive feature of the home as the background of the photo.

Most mls listings simply show each room.

When you include one or two of these unique shots you are more likely to capture a buyer's attention by making the home seem more interesting.

Extreme close-ups can suggest a certain lifestyle.

They make the listing stand out from the competition, and make the home more memorable.

Is your listing ready for it's close-up?

I absolutely LOVED that movie...now I am distracted!  LOL  Excellent advice about the close up photos, though, and the emotiom they evoke.  Absolutely true.

Oh, what great info, Sharon!!! I can't believe that in my photo-taking, that I didn't really know this little secret. Shame on me. I am incorporating it right away! And I loved that short video clip. Oh, Gloria was a vegetarian and lived to be quite old. I, too am a vegie, and I am ready for MY close-up Mr. Demille...oh, wait, let me put some lipstick on....

Sharon- you are absolutely right with this one!!!   Rooms are nice but the icing on the cake is often that close-up.  This made me think of the late Kathy Nielsen.

Sharon, that's a great idea - to use a close-up of a beautiful accent in the home with a feature in the background. Without knowing the term, I had been using a similar technique for exterior photos - trees or flowers in the close-up, and an entrance door.

I frequently use shots like this and get results. Plain old rooms can be boring.

That video is a hoot! I'm so glad the movie industry has changed! By the same token, agents need to change when taking MLS photos too!

Thanks, Sharon!

Steffy Hristova  Yes, this works very well for exterior shots. It can really make all the difference in the perception of the home.

Endre Barath, Jr.  Oh I would LOVE that stove. Probably not gonna happen in this lifetime. LOL

I wouldn't want to be a judge in this contest either....my head would explode.

Patricia Feager  I wanted to watch that movie yesterday, but in the process of looking for it, I ended up watching something else. LOL
