Have a Grand Opening!

Want to make a bigger impact with buyers as they cross the threshold of your property listings, rather than allow their real estate agent flip a few light switches? Show up beforehand or ask the sellers to:

  • Open the window coverings
  • Turn on all the lights in every room
  • Remove clutter from countertops
  • Light all fireplaces (if present)
  • Grind a lemon in the disposal
  • Fluff pillows and make all beds
  • Take pets for a walk or ride

It's very simple when you think about it and will make a positive impression as potential buyers wander room to room. Keeping their interest is pertinent to getting a home SOLD. Follow these tips and you may just do that faster!

Happy sales all!

Wanda,

We were always at all our listings at least 15minutes ahead to turn on the lights and make sure that everything looked good and that was in commercial real estate.  A

I do wish opens worked better in my area, but unless it is a model there is not much luck in doing them

I always try to arrive early and prepare the house for the showing. It helps me and allows a better presentation.

Good morning Wanda.  When I did listings I always had them turn on the lights etc,  The only thing I did not think about was the lemon in the disposal.  The learning continues.

It's all about presentation and when the house is ready to show, in its best light it's more likely to get an offer - a GREAT offer!

You make your point crystal clear!!!

Wanda...I cannot tell you how often I have walked through a home with my sellers and showed them what light does for the home. Here in Florida I also make them turn the a/c colder. Buyers tend to stay longer in a home that is more comfortable inside!

Excellent advice. Too many agents aren't "hands on" enough and expect houses to sell themselves.

The goal is to sell the home so anything that helps is worth doing. These are all great tips.
