ActiveRain Photo Challenge: Rosedale Cottage

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH@properties AB95346

When I first read Dick Greenberg's post, The ActiveRain 2016 Photography Contest, I wondered how to approach the real estate category.  We have a professional photographer on staff, and only rarely do I take any of the pictures of my listings.

But when we did the shoot on Rosedale Cottage, my all time favorite listing, I brought my camera and took a few shots.

This one, the front of the house, was a favorite one of mine, and our Art Department chose it as the main photo for the marketing materials.

The new owners have done many renovations, adding a sunroom where the wooden deck is. They also bumped out the roof in the back to create a third bedroom and renovated the kitchen.

And it's still my favorite house in all of DC!

I can't remember which camera I used for the picture, but I think it was a Nikon D60 - a camera that is almost as good as the one on my new iPhone 7S!

Hi Pat -- I can see why this cottage is your favorite house in DC -- it oozes charm and curb appeal.

Michael,  and it looks out over a park, with a view of the National Cathedral - and free carillon concerts!

Myrl, the interior is just beautiful, too!  A colleague described it as "real estate crack!"

Pat- I can see why it's your favorite!!!  It would be mine just by looking at your photograph.  Love the shadows on it.

Well, heck, Patricia, I can TOTALLY see why they chose this as the main listing hoto!!! I think it's so inviting, and beautiful in that way that' not being too stuffy, actually the opposite. I really like this!!

Kathy, I liked the tall grass on the vacant lot next door - which the buyers eventually bought so nobody would build on it.

Gayle, this house was so un-stuffy!  The people who lived in it were unbelievably fun!
