Garden of Lights at the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas
The popular, annual Garden of Lights will open this coming Saturday, December 3rd at the beautiful San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas, CA.
The San Diego Botanic Garden is a beautiful place to enjoy any time of the year, but it’s particularly magical at the holidays when brightened by around 125,000 sparkling lights for this annual Garden of Lights event. You can view the garden and lights from December 3rd until the 23rd, and then again from the 26th to the 30th, from 5 – 9 PM daily (the San Diego Botanic Garden opens at 9 am).
We were there several years ago and I can tell you that it was truly a special place to visit over the holidays!
And if the beauty of these lighted gardens is not enough, you can also enjoy horse drawn buggy rides, marshmallow roasting, Santa (from the 3rd through the 23rd), holiday crafts, a nutcracker display, live music and refreshments including mulled wine. And on selected nights you can enjoy holiday carolers, puppet shows, and snow for sledding.
Sunday – Thursday: Members $10; Seniors, Active Military and Students $10; Non-Members $15 and children ages 3–12, $5.
Friday and Saturday: Members, Seniors, Active Military and Students $10, Non-Members $20, and children ages 3–12, $5.
The San Diego Botanic Garden also offers a number of special events during the year, including a Chocolate Festival, Art Festival and the Paw Walk.
