For those of you who, like me, enjoy authentic Greek food from time to time, I suggest you pay a visit to Greekfest when you are in the Phoenix / Scottsdale area.
I highly recommend the "combo" of mild kefalograviera cheese and loukaniko (house made lamb sausage) baked in olive oil and flamed with brandy at the table prior to serving - with house made or pita bread. When flaming the dish, the waiter yells OOOMPAH!! - hence the name of the post!
That should get things going!
For the entree, I have a few personal favorites, listed at random:
Gyros Taverna
Greekfest Ravioli
Pastitsio
Rack of Lamb
and many more...
If you still have room, the Baklava is amazing, as well as a couple of lesser known companions such as Galaktoboureko Chios (custard in phyllo pastry) and Creme Brulee Rizogalo (Creme Brulee Rice Pudding).
