I live in a magical place. My home is imbued with the history of a town that time forgot. I live in Stockbridge Massachusetts where the famous artist and illustrator Norman Rockwell lived and worked. The town hall where we vote and pay taxes has Rockwell pictures everywhere. There are the real people who posed for the illustrations right next to to the photos of them.
Last Sunday Stockbridge celebrated the old fashioned Christmas it is known for. Often featured on 60 Minutes, the streets are closed, the old cars are everywhere and the feeling takes you back to a simpler time. I grew up in the fifties. I enjoy being in this place always but at the holidays it is incredible.
I have lived in many places and made homes I cherished in each. I am lucky to now have a have a home in a very, very unique area with a history that makes me smile and a future that wraps its arms around me. Sometimes you look for a house and find a home. I am home now and life is good, very very good.
