Luxury Is In The Eye Of The Beholder: Silver Belle, Or Silver Benz?

This morning we were reading a recent study defining luxury.  One of the conclusions was that luxury is in the eye of the beholder.  The other was that tradition and heritage are preferable to cool and modern.  Or, could this be a combination of both as examplified by the mirror paint on this Mercedes?

What is even more interesting is that we spotted this automotive mirror in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Can you imagine how hot the temperature in the car must be in the summer desert heat, let alone keeping it clean and shiny?

What do you think?  Silver Belle or Silver Benz?

If the idea is to draw attention to your possession versus your real worth, then this is definitely the car to own.

Good morning, Alexandra and Ron --- I saw a similar Mercedes on the freeway a couple of weeks ago.   There's no need for me to stand out on the road so this car wouldn't be my choice for transportaiton.

LOl that is too funny - how did I know it was Scottsdale!  I saw this car (or one like it last week in Scottsdale) and honestly I wasn't too wild about it - can you say SHINY!

That's quite a look, Alexandra and Ron... I just can't imagine what it will take to keep those cars looking polished all the time!

Hi Ron and Alexandra Seigel - I thought that only Saudi princes had cars like this.  - If the sun hits the car just right it could send the reflection back to another car and possibly blind a driver.  Seems like a safety hazard to me.

Can you imagine what it takes to keep that car clean? It is impressive but I know what it would look like in Washington state weather Ron and Alexandra Seigel

Ron and Alexandra- we saw a Rolls last year at one of the luxury dealerships.  Interesting but not for me.  I'm more of the classic black dress person.

Ron and Alexandra, I will take silver bells, this car is not for me, it's an eye catcher for sure.

That looks like one heck of a fancy paint job and I am thinking that perhaps it was done in a way as to keep the heat out?

Ron and Alexandra Seigel I am not a fan..though I love Mercedes but not that one, I too do not like to draw attention to myself especially on the road. No need for that!

Hi Ron & Alexandra - While silver is the traditional Mercedes color, it's more of a gray tone. That's just too flashy for my taste.

Well, I can appreciate it, although the exterior looks like it belongs on a spacecraft. I'm a bit more traditional in my tastes regarding car colors. I lean toward the classics.

Alexandra, I think Mercedes has both the tradition/heritage as well as the coo depending on the model and yearl. As you said it is all in the eyes of the beholder.

I forgot to say Mirror paint would never be my choice.. Summer heat here would make that paint job impractical at best..

Good morning A.  Love the color but I wouldn't want to own it.  Just too much in time to keep it clean.  It would be a discussion starter

Good morning Ron and Alexandra Seigel ,

Luxury is in the eye of the beholder but would take a certain person to take on this flashy car! Can't imagine trying to keep it clean..I'm going with something more tasteful and subdued.

This is definitely an interesting finish for a Mercedes. Dolores likes her white Mercedes but would be happy to have a newer mode.

Hmmm, too shiny for my taste and what a chore to keep it looking its best. Seems to me it's for someone who wants to attract attention, rather than it necessarily being a sign of luxury.
