Who Would of Thought It

WOW!!!!! It really does not seem like it has been that many years ago that this trip down real estate lane started but here it is forty four years later.  Yes, September the fifteenth 1973 I received my real estate license. I received my brokers license September 1976 and charge straight ahead. I did not notice the road signs as in dangerous curves ahead or do not pass the education signs.

I never thought about where it might lead me or about all of the tangled trails that lay ahead but it has been exciting. While working for my  first Broker I was so excited to be selling homes to  famlies that were moving into the are as well as local people that were on the move. I was soon the top producer at the office not because I was a better agent  but because I got to the office at eight oclock and left the office at seven oclock. I often had accepted contracts stacked on the Broker's desk before he got to the office.

I sure thought that this was a real easy way to generate a good income and it was back then. With just a one page contract form on a legal page. WOW! How easy is this and it reallly was until we were over come with attorneys that could make a lot of money by way of changing the cotract format every few months. I never saw a law-suit until  so many changes were made to add the changes. I never had a problem thru all of the years so I guess that I was blessed in that way.

I have had people ask me how did I stay involved or interested in the business for such a long time. My answer was because I got involved in so many different areas of real estate. When I would tire in one area of the business I would look for another section of real estate to keep me interested.  From land development, building homes, buying business that had another door to real estate kept me looking ahead. Even after all of the years I look ahead to another experience. One way that kept me fresh was to serve on as many different community projects and Board of Realtors projects and committies.

The National Association of Realtors honered me with REALTOR Emeritus status at the National Association 2016 Realtors Conference & Expo.

Congratulations on having a productive real estate career, across 4 decades.  That is a wild ride you took, but hard work and perseverance are seldom a detriment to a career.
