I took a customer to lunch the other day.  It was a restaurant that had a reputation for great food and a great atmosphere.  It was a nice little place, family owned, familiar places...

Then the trauma...the food was supposed to be hot, it was cold, the ice tea was sour, the desert was half melted...when I thought this would be a great place to discuss Real Estate, unfortunately it was a disaster.

The chef that I knew was off with the flu...the food was horrific and the day was the same.

I apologized to my customer and let him know the food was not up to par as the chef was ill and not working.

The service was sub-par as well.

How do you turn this terrible experience into a good one?

Well, fortunately, I did.

We left that restaurant as terrible as it was and went to a nice coffee shop. We had desert and coffee and continued on with what started out as a bad day.  The service was wonderful, the dessert was heavenly, the conversation went from a bad scenario to a blessedly wonderful experience.

My buyer understood my apologies and we are on a good forward goal to buy several properties to turn into rental unit's for him...

What do you do with a situation like this?

Yeah that is what can happen, sometimes you should let the client choose so then if it's bad it's on them

Karen, it could the absolute worst meal but with the absolute best of intentions. It really is the thought that counts. These are the daily random acts of kindness that make the sun warmer, the water refreshing and the sky a deep, tranquil blue. What a superb gesture.

How's your family?

Well Karen, at least you salvaged the day by bringing your customer to that coffee shop. How dare that chef get sick right before you came in?!! What kind of friend is that? LOL
