"Atlas Shrugged written by Ayn Rand"
I read Atlas Shrugged in 1957 and I still read it frequently and I always find it an amazing work of art.
Hope you enjoy Ayn's words of wisdom as much as I do.
1. Ask yourself whether the dream of heaven and greatness should be waiting for us in our graves - or whether it should be ours here and now and on this earth.
2. A government is the most dangerous threat to man's rights: it holds a legal monopoly on the use of physical force against legally disarmed victims.
3. Government "help" to business is just as disastrous as government persecution... the only way a government can be of service to national prosperity is by keeping its hands off.
4. I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.
5. Run for your life from any man who tells you that money is evil. That sentence is the leper's bell of an approaching looter.
6. The man who lets a leader prescribe his course is a wreck being towed to the scrap heap.
7. The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.
8. We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion; the stage where the government is free to do anything it please, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force.
9. Never stop thinking about all the positive things in life. Remember... what you think about you will bring about.
10. The most depraved type of human being is the man without a purpose.
11. Wealth is the product of man's capacity to think.
Ayn Rand, born in Russia as Alyssa Rosenbaum, left the USSR in 1926, rejecting collectivist Bolshevik Russia as the antithesis of freedom. She fled to the United States, where the individual freedom and capitalism that she found became her life's passion. "Ayn Rand was the single most important novelist and philosopher of the 20th century. Or so she admitted with all due modesty, whenever the subject came up."
Rich & I wish you a Happy New Day
