Good morning Gayle,
The only thing missing is the crash of waves and masts.
Make yourself an astonishing day.

Good morning, Gayle --- I have no doubt that there's a story(or a post perhaps) behind this pensive photo.

What a wonderful face. I so prefer faces that tell stories. Give me this wonderful face over the airbrushed perfection of plastic surgery, botox, and fillers.

That a pretty good look and I remember wearing a hat like that in the 60's since it was considered cool.

Thank you ALL...I fell in love with this man's profile immediately. I didn't tell him I was taking his picture and sat on a bench nearby as he stood next to a woman friend, talking. His eyes (after I looked at this, as I snap people's photos very quickly) looked so clear, like wolf's eyes. And the angles in his face, everything about him drew me in. I know nothing about him, but we can all tell that he has quite the history.
I did nothing to this picture, and took it in monochrome on purpose. I simply framed it.
Most of the time, I capture nature and wildlife, along with landscapes, which frankly. I find more interesting than photographing people. I was quite smitten by him!
Thank you very much for sharing this excellent photograph. I hope you provided a copy for your model.
That's a magnificent picture, Gayle! Worthy of being framed and hung somewhere!

Roy Kelley I didn't want to intrude on him and his conversation--they seemed like old friends and I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable. It's a place I just visited after many years of not being there. There were many interesting characters, but his face and the way he was dressed just seemed right.
Myrl Jeffcoat oh how thrilled I am to read this and to be featured! I have him on my desktop background and every time I open up my computer and see his old soul, old salt face, it just makes me feel good! I think I will frame it someday. Maybe on Woodsnap--have you ever done that? I have several framed on it and they plant a tree with every purchase made!

Gayle, you captured the old salty dog very well. No doubt he has many life stories to tell.

A hat and a face of a man with great character and time spent at the mercy of the elements. Like Spencer Tracy in the movie The Old Man and the Sea
