Are You Writing Click Bait?
For those looking for more hits on your blogs, here's a strategy that many use and get good response from. I just suggest that you don't go overboard and tease to the point of annoyance:
See Those Ads Promising the Magic Secret to Losing Weight or Not Aging?
Do You Click?
These titles called click bait generally are seen on the Internet and on pop up ads. They are meant to entice you to click over. How many times do you click to see what it is all about and get disappointed? I have yet to find that magic secret to instantly losing weight or dropping 10 years from my face. I will not be fooled again into wasting my time on this kind of click bait.
When writing your blog or writing marketing ads do you write click bait? Do you feel clever picking a catchy title but your content falls short? Sure you captured the attention of the reader and got them to click. After that, it went down hill because there wasn't any meat. Readers have choices and they are many. If you fail to give them something equal to the bait they will move on.
Of course I recommend you choose a catchy title and one that gets attention. These do what they are supposed to do, get the reader read on, call. But if the reader gets disappointed when we don't deliver good, valuable or interesting information or service, they soon will stop being lured in just like on the weight loss and anti-aging ads. Our click bait is meant to grab attention, we need to deliver what is promised. If we lose the reader or caller we may never get him back.
Click bait is guaranteed to get attention but when you write click bait be sure to deliver the goods and really good goods at that.
