Yoga Class That Had Me In Tears..Soulful Sunday
When I arrived at the Yoga Studio(One Yoga & Fitness), most Yogis were already on their mats so our amazing Yoga Instructor Gina Zagame had to make room for me..of course it had to me in the front row. The room was packed. There was a monitor set-up which is not usual and I didn’t think anything of it. She also placed a message written on the wall for all of us to read. It was this sunskrit;
The meaning is;
Lokah-location of all universes existing at this moment
Samastah-all beings living in this location
Sukhino-In happiness, joy and free from all suffering
Bhav-The divine mood or state of union
Antu-May it be so
She began the class with a video that touched all of us, I don’t know about everyone else as we all keep our eyes on our own mats but I was in tears and still can’t stop thinking about it. It’s the video that was taken in Aleppo, if you haven’t seen it, please do watch.
There’s so much suffering in our world, no doubt about that. When we hear horror stories such as the bombing in Aleppo, we want to go and save them all. It’s not realistic.
We as Americans, see all the violence thanks to media but we can’t possibly relate to their suffering as we never went through anything so horrible.
Suffering goes on right here in the United States. Young girls and boys end up in the wrong place with the wrong people and suffer all their lives. There’s so much, one post can’t address them all.
How can we possibly help all without a voice? With love..Breath, practice and be intentional about love and forgiveness. Start right where you are in your own life. Is there some unforgiveness? Bitterness? Harsh words said that are still ringing in your ears? Let it go...love unconditionally, love with all your heart and soul and forgive.
You can’t bring all the children home with you from Aleppo but you can certainly mend the broken relationships. See, if we have genuine love for people, forgiveness is easy.
Say this mantra every morning; “May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all”. – translation by Sharon Gannon Jivamukti Yoga
Are you ready to love more today than you did yesterday? I am!
