There is nothing quite like the smell of a real Christmas tree!

As the season comes to a close and those needles begin to dry up and drop off your tree, you need to know where to take it once the last present has been unwrapped.

Here is a list of locations in Aurora CO where you can take your Christmas tree for recycling from December 26th through January 9th.

Be sure to remove all nails, decorations and stands.

Del Mar Park - 6th & Peoria (west parking lot)

Olympic Park - 15501 E Yale Ave.

Saddle Rock Golf Course - 21705 E Arapahoe Rd.

As a result of this tree recycling, the City is offering FREE MULCH from December 30th through January 9th.  Bring your own truck, containers and shovels to these locations.

Hi Belinda Spillman - this is a good public service awareness - especially to make sure the stands and nails are removed. I have to laugh...I just got my tree 2 days ago.

This is so handy Belinda. When Christmas is over and the tree is dropping needles everywhere, it's time to get it out of the house and recyled.

It is very important to recycle Christmas trees properly, I have heard of them not being recycled properly and catching on fire.

Hi Belinda - That's a great program, much like the one we have here, but our mulch isn't free.

Belinda, I really liked the re-cycling Christmas tree concept as Aurora is doing. Free mulch completes the cycle.

What an important bulletin for those with live Christmas trees. It is a great way to be natural and give back to nature.
